As part of the 7407 stage 1 course there is a requirement for several groups of students to complete a micro teaching session, we would do the session in front of the other students who would provide the feedback for the session. There is no doubt that immediate feedback is the most beneficial due to the work still being fresh in the mind of the student. Reece & Walker (2002 p470) Reflection We had initially planned to deliver the micro teach two weeks earlier but one member of the group had a personal issue that forced the session to be delayed by two weeks. Our group had a diverse knowledge pool, IT, Physical Education and Marketing and because of this diversity I initially thought that finding a subject for the micro teaching session would be hard but to my surprise we had discussed and agreed the subject and each persons involvement within thirty minutes. The micro teaching session would be based on the human heart with each member of the group delivering a part of the session, my part would be to create the presentation materials using Microsoft PowerPoint, the marketing expert would devise the session plan and handouts and the PE instructor would discuss the function of the human heart. Each individual in the group contributed to each part of the session (see lesson plan and scheme of work submitted with this document). Action Points We set up the resources and distributed the handouts, the session started with our marketing expert discussing the aims and objectives of the session, when she had finished it was my turn to read some interesting heart facts from a PowerPoint presentation, I chose to read these facts direct from the projected screen and because of this I could not face the class, I believe that this was a mistake and in future I will ensure that I read from printed material. After I had finished my interesting facts presentation the PE instructor completed her section which included explanations of the different aspects of the human heart, this was done using models and overhead projections, this section went particularly well and the students participated by asking questions, we had only allowed five minutes for this section but the amount of questions asked made the section overrun slightly. After this section was complete the students were given a quiz sheet, the quiz was based on the delivered session and this would be used to check learning had taken place, this section was handled mainly by the marketing expert who read the questions and confirmed the answers at the end. Overall the micro teaching session went well and issues were identified immediately, the students performed well on the quiz and the overall feedback was good. History of dance Essay How could you leave your country? The place you grew up in, how could you leave your loved ones in a place so bad you had to flee it yourself? The production of ‘Look the other way’ choreographed by Cadi McCarthy is clearly emotionally attached to the performers. Look the other way describes how people had to leave their home and become refugees, their fear and hatred needing the encouragement to move forward. The mixture of contemporary and hip hop really drives you into the performance and makes dancers, public and even you feel like a part of the attraction. The choreographer clearly displays the variety of talent and emotive skills that all of the dancers consist of. The different interrogations of each dancer themselves are astonishing, having a wide range from the strength and intensity movements by Peter Fares to the smooth, soft and meaningful movements danced by Yillin Kong. The artistic use of props and lighting gives the texture of the movements on the performers and their facial expressions gave an overwhelming feeling inside; it’s a wakeup call to seeing how lucky we are as a country. This was a very effective way to get the audience’s attention. Having to look the other way when all you feel is hopelessness is a very difficult thing to do. The characters make you feel as if they are portraying their country, getting away from the outrageousness and the terror. Sharing their side of the horrific stories. All distributing the same emotions betrayal and being forced to look the other way. The choreographer immersed herself into the stories of the young people who had overcome the sacrifice of fleeing their country to have freedom in Australia. There are seven characters (not including the two boys who are still learning English) in the performance, each with different difficulties and reports to share with the world. They all show tolerance and ignorance to not give up and not give in. The movements and space used in this choreography by Cadi McCarthy entitles the effects and emotions she wants the audience to feel. Each performer had their own special techniques which was used to their advantage. Movements such as slowly walking, shaking, and closed shapes, sharp turns, counter balancing and falling, these are indications of being pushed around. The fast, muscular movements were intimidating and in each other’s personal space. The most significant peace was the Riot (Fight scene) which was done in a group, but danced in duets. Showing the mob mentality, strength and power, giving the truthful facts that no matter how many times you’re pushed down, you shall thrive to get back up again, keep moving forward. The costumes seemed rushed and not restricted which gave them freedom to move the clothing looking very unfavourable. Using very natural colours such as black, skin colour, white, and a flowered dress worn by Yillin showing the audience that they were in a rush, all they had was the clothing on their backs. The lighting effects by Andrew Portwine was dim and organic to set the mood, the angles of the light reflected off the dancers faces to give texture, dark gloomy looks. The overall costumes and lighting was more than successful and gave the illusion to hardship for the audience. Tristen Parr and Matt Cornell did exceptional work on the soundtrack. The music had been made from scratch so it was an original peace. In the performance the music was recorded and instrumental throughout. You could feel the classical vibrations as if atmospherical, representing the extreme adversity and struggles (Production2; Sacrifice, where videos are used to tell us about true stories). There were sections of the performance where the sound was live, like the word monologues where each dancer talks about accountings explaining what it was like to be a refugee (Peter Fares holding Yillin Kong on his shoulder while telling the story of his parents from Israel, Lebanon, and Syria to Australia). The most memorable and major feature of the props used was the ‘Opening boards’ (Designed by Laura Boynes and Tristan Parr) where the characters drag themselves across the stage and stand up onto a rocking board, representing the uncertainty to travel, external and internal fear of leaving their loved ones, the experience’s to come. Using the boards as a boat and steps revealing their long journey to find freedom, using the rocking motion traveling the entire emotional ride with the characters. The boards drew the audience’s attention straight away to the restlessness and fear. The backdrop of four walls that were recycled substances designed by Monique Wajon (makeshift of materials found in refugee camps). These props communicated to the audience giving meaning and belief to the dance. The Buzz Dance Theatre has accomplished in reproducing all viewpoints of refugees, immigrants and asylum seekers. Every possible aspect of contemporary and hip hop dance was put into this performance to accomplish the priorities and achievements of triumphing to the top. After the Council of Trent the Catholic Church, armed with its Tridentine decrees, placed renewed emphasis on continuous prayer, self-control and improvement, and particularly charity. The Church was looking for a more practical religion where people could be actively involved, as argued by John Bossy. An organisation that was a manifestation of these developments were the Jesuits. By joining the Jesuits ones sense of spirituality was enhanced and such theological challenges that were desired would be provided. Norvegus was one such Jesuit who undertook the spiritual challenge were he did the challenging task successfully of persuading Scandinavian theology students in the 1580s to be Catholic. The Jesuits had great security in their faith, shown, for instance, by their willingness at one point to do charitable works in Hamburg only to be lynched. The Jesuits had such devout members for their methods of the four main stages of training, or weeks as they were knows, were totally unique. The Jesuit would take the individual and train them up to moral standard whereby they could be presented to the church at the end of the process as someone who was spiritually and ethically strong. The members of the Jesuits were thus indifferent to the world and its pleasures yet were equipped to work within it. The Church, to its great advantage, was thus equipped with members who were certain of their faith and in their knowledge of God. The Jesuits were important in a spiritual sense for through their spiritual exercises they emphasised the important theological issue derived from an Aristotelian idea where the mind is employed to contemplate suffering of Christ and God. Loyola takes this a stage further when he proposes that the mind can be used to motivate us into good and charitable apostolic action. From Loyolas contemplation for achieving love he outlines how you can meditate to understand, as suggested when he said, Take my freedom, my memory, my understanding and use me as you wish. The ultimate outcome is that individuals had increased understanding of God that it was possible to become totally servile. With such members, it was inevitable that the Catholic faith strengthened. The Jesuit theology was important in justifying Papal dominance. A great manifestation of the developments towards a more practical faith was the spiritual exercises. In theological terms, the spiritual exercises placed a great emphasis on Papal hierarchy. Hierarchy within the Church could now be justified by theology and this validation of this much disputed factor to Catholicism enabled the Church to produce a strong front. Such comments of Loyola as I will believe that the white object I see is black if that be the will of the hierarchal Church suggests the importance of obedience and hierarchy which the Jesuits so promoted. The Jesuits were part of the move towards Catholic revival not only through realising the importance of the Churchs abuses and poor administration but also through challenging the Lutherans. An essential role of the Jesuits to aiding the Catholic faith was the recovering of lost souls in Lutheran territory as well as persuading people out of Europe to convert to Catholicism. A fine example was set by Francis Xavier who became the best know Christian missionary of modern time. He tried to educate the people of the East, particularly in Japan and India on the values of Christianity. The conversion of non-Christians was Loyolas initial motivation in founding his Society and he realised its importance right back in the 1540s when the Jesuits were established. The Papacy also viewed the order as one where their principle function was converting individuals to Catholicism, but particularly those who were Lutheran. As shown by the title given by the Papacy, Regimi militantis ecclesiae, when the order was founded in 1542, they were viewed as an almost militant organisation who could counter the Lutherans with their total obedience to the Pope. The Jesuits would not have received the Papal Bull and this particular title if the Catholics did not realise there would be a spiritual armed struggle between the Jesuits and Luther.

Reinforced Concrete Walls Engineering Overview Reinforced Concrete (RC) walls are often used as coupled systems in construction of multi-story buildings because of their advantages in comparison with individual walls such as higher lateral stiffness, lower bending moments on each individual wall, and higher energy dissipation because of the inelastic deformations of coupling beams (El Tawil et al., 2010). These elements have been extensively utilized in medium-rise and high-rise building structures within the past decades. Nowadays, RC coupled shear walls are popular lateral force resisting systems, especially in high-risk seismic zones (Farhidzadeh et al., 2013). The reason behind this trend is that RC coupled walls are significantly capable of controlling the inter story drift ratio, which has been frequently used as a performance indicator in design of structures (Carrillo and Alcocer, 2012). Similarly, these structural systems are quite efficient in reducing the associated implication of non-structural elements damage. The expected energy dissipation mechanism of a ductile RC wall system under lateral deformations is flexural yielding (i.e. plastic hinges) at the base of both the cantilever and coupled wall systems, and at both ends of each coupling beam in a coupled wall system (Boivin and Paultre, 2012). Series of design provisions are specified in the current codes to confine the inelastic response at the wall base. These are aimed at ensure enough strength against undesirable modes of failure like brittle shear failure(Ghorbanirenani et al., 2012). Many researchers have conducted both experimental and analytical investigations to identify the behavior of coupled walls, and to improve the performance of these systems. The C-shaped coupled wall system (i.e. core wall) is one of the simplest and is a popular arrangement used in practice. Despite their popularity, however, there have been relatively few studies on the seismic behavior of these RC structures (Beyer et al. 2008), necessitating research on the seismic performance of C-shaped cores. One of the most important characteristics of these nonplanar wall systems is their response when the structure is subjected to torsional efforts due to the eccentricity of lateral forces. This will be more significant when the structural system is asymmetric in plan regarding the lateral stiffness and strength distribution. Such a configuration in plan of a building is prone to have large torsional response during a severe earthquake. Reports and field observations after the past earthquake s showed severe structural damages because of torsional effects (Hart, 1975; Esteva, 1987). A recent investigation by Dizhur et al. (2011) reported significant structural damages, which was apparently caused by a torsionallysensitive response, after the Christchurch earthquake in 2011. Most of the researches carried out in the past focused on the behavior of planar RC walls, including various proposed approaches for predicting their nonlinear flexure-shear interaction behavior (Colotti, 1993; Elwood, 2002; Massone et al., 2006 and 2009; Mullapudi and Ayoub, 2009; Zhang and Xu, 2009; Jiang and Kurama, 2010; Beyer et al., 2011; Panagiotou and Restrepo, 2011; Fischinger et al., 2012). These approaches were mostly based on fiber-section elements such as multiple-vertical-line-elements (MVLE) proposed by Vulcano et al. (1988). Biaxial behavior of concrete material (e.g. modified compression field theory; Vecchio and Collins, 1986) were also considered in some of these approaches. On the contrary, experimental researches on the performance of non-planar (e.g. C-shaped) RC walls subjected to lateral loads are very limited. In one of the first attempts, Ile and Reynouard (2005) examined three full scale U-shaped RC walls under thecyclic lateral loading. The purpose of the study wasto study the behavior of U-shaped walls against uniaxial and biaxial bending and shear, and to compare the design provisions required by two versions of Eurocode 8. A shell model was also developed for simulation of non-planar RC walls. Beyer et al. (2008-a) investigated the bi-directional quasi-static cyclic response of ductile U-shaped RC walls by conducting experimental tests on two half-scale specimens with different thicknesses. The tests mainly focused on the flexural behavior of walls, considering different directions of loading (two orthogonal as well as diagonal). Results showed the diagonal direction as the most critical direction, in which the maximum moment resisted by the wall was less than the corresponding value calculated by the plastic hinge analysis. Moreover, the displacement capacity of the wall in diagonal direction was found to be smaller than the other two orthogonal directions. A simplified numerical model was also developed by Beyer et al. (2008-b), and a practical approach was proposed for implementation and analysis of of U-shaped walls. The numerical approach was based on wide-column analogy, and has been shown to produce reasonable estimation of the inelastic displacement response for slender walls. Constantin and Beyer (2012) used a 3D multilayered shell element model for U-shaped walls to capture their local as well as the global behavior under diagonal loading. The model was developed using the software VecTor4 developed at the University of Toronto (Wong and Vecchio, 2003), and was found to be accurate in terms of loading capacity of the wall, but not for its displacement ductility. Lowes et al. (2013) examined three 1/3 scale C-shaped wall specimens, representing a part of a coupled RC core system, under biaxial loading protocols. Results of cyclic tests showed that bidirectional loading significantly affected the response for displacement cycles in excess of the yield displacement. At these displacement levels, bidirectional loading resulted in a significant reduction in the stiffness of the wall in the direction parallel to the web of the wall (loading activating strongà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ axis bending). Recently, Lu and Panagiotou (2014) presented a three-dimensional (3D) cyclic model for non-planar RC walls, based on beam-truss analogy. The model was able to predict the effects of flexure-shear interaction, considering biaxial behavior of concrete material, and account for mesh-size effects. Although the proposed model has been revised several times and they validated the model for three reinforced concrete T-shaped, C-shaped, and I-shaped section wall specimens, the modeling approach was found to be complicated in terms of calibration of truss members and material properties (Kolozvari, 2013). The results were also sensitive for precisely tracking the displacement responses of walls in a wide-amplitude. In design of RC shear walls, the fundamental design equations are mainly based on the plane sections remain plane assumption, which is unable to capture the shear lag effects related to flexure and warping torsion. Such effects can be substantial in non-planar (C-, I- or T-shaped) wall configurations, and might affect the response of structural system in seismic excitations. A study Boivin and Paultre (2010) was shown that the seismic provisions proposed by NBCC 2005 and the CSA standard A23.3-04 (2014) for design of ductile RC shear walls buildings could considerably underestimate the shear demand, especially at the base of the shear wall system. This issue would be due to the fact that the amplification effects from the higher modes of vibration cannot be efficiently taken into account by the current capacity design methods. In seismic design of a multi-story ductile RC wall, this can produce design strength envelopes that largely underestimate the seismic force demand. Hence, more studies need to be conducted on the seismic performance of these structural systems and effectiveness of available retrofitting methods, both of which were investigated in the current study. A recent research (Pelletier, 2015) showed that the dynamic shear amplification factor newly introduced in CSA A23.3-14 (2014) allows a more realistic seismic shear force demand to be obtained for RC shear walls. This factor should be applied to prevent brittle shear failure and to account for the inelastic effects of higher modes. However, RC shear wall systems that are designed based on the CSA A23-04 need to be controlled for shear demands. Moreover, CSA A23.3-14 excludes the coupled and partially coupled walls from the clause specified for accounting for inelastic effects of higher modes. Furthermore, NBCC 2015 provides a higher mode factor Mv which is equal to 1.0 for coupled shear walls except in very occasional cases, Ta=2.0 seconds and S0.2/S5=65, in which the Mv is equal to 1.03. On th e contrary, it was found by Boivin and Paultre (2010) that the shear envelope calculated based on the capacity design method is significantly unconservative in either the cantilever or coupled wall directions. Therefore, more accurate evaluations for the future designs and retrofit options for existing building are essential.

The Five Points is a district of New York City and obviously the most corrupt. Crime is all to common, and sickness runs rampant in the area.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Although very underdeveloped, Amsterdam has sworn to revenge his father’s death and kill Bill â€Å"the Butcher.† When Amsterdam leaves he immediately sets his plan in motion.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  He begins by getting on Cutting’s good side, and eventually becoming somewhat of an apprentice to the crime lord. During this time Amsterdam learns the ways of corruption. To keep above the law Bill Cutting becomes partners with William Tweed, arguably the most corrupt politician of all time. Bill gives Tweed the Irish immigrant vote, and Boss Tweed keeps Cutting â€Å"high and dry.†   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Two subplots develop in the movie also.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  First, a love story, between Amsterdam and Jenny Everdeane. A pickpocket by trade Jenny first steals Amsterdam’s necklace. Because the necklace has much sentimental value, he tracks her down and gets it back, he also gets the girl.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Second, the Draft Riots of 1863. The riots began because of the draft, instated because of the Civil War. The public was furious that you could buy your way out for 300 dollars. Also because of the corruption surrounding the draft. It was easy to get sucked into the draft if you were poor or underprivileged and it was easy to get out of the draft if you were wealthy (you could buy your way out for 300 dollars.)   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  In the end Amsterdam reinvents the â€Å"dead rabbits† and schedules a fight with the â€Å"nativists† once again. It just so happens that the day they schedule the fight is the day the Draft Riots begin. The Union Army marches on the city and the Union ... ...citizens, only one was reported as being stabbed.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The film also shows East Asian people living in the Five Points. The Chinese didn’t begin moving to the U.S. until the transcontinental railroad, in the 1890’s.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Finally, the Union Navy was ported in New York but never fired a round, as in the movie. Also, the Five Points were not the epicenter of the riots, in fact they were the opposite. William Tweed worked diligently to keep the peace in the area, and only three counts of murder and looting were reported over the four days the riots took place.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  I can only hope that this movie inspires viewers to discover the actual history. It’s extremely interesting stuff. The gangs of the Five Points established the model for the alliance of Irishmen, Jews, and Italians who created the more commonly known mobs during the 1920’s and prohibition. A path was established between the Dead Rabbits, the Plug Uglies, the Bowery B’hoys that continues today with the Latin Kings, the Crips, and the Bloods.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The true tale is a gruesome part of history, but an essential part none the less.

However, the invention he patented was not John Kay’s but a more sufficient and effective invention. He worked with the Spinning Jenny, which was invented by James Hargreaves. (Clare 10-13) Arkwrights use of the Spinning Jenny, became the basis on how to use inventions for producing max outputs (Mantoux 224). The Industrial Revolution was supported by the new and efficient inventions. Inventions were created by many and shaped the nations future. One of the most important inventions was the Steam Engine. The Steam Engine was initially created by Thomas Newcomen, but his invention was very clumsy and didn’t have a practical purpose (mantoux 225). However, James Watt managed to create a more efficient device, by creating rotary motion from inserting a crank and a flywheel (Claire 12-15). Disaster Movie

This movie will take place a few years from now. Global warming has increased rapidly throughout the years as more and more people contribute to the pollutions. It will focus on the occurrences within the United States, but also little pieces throughout the world as we see the different changes. We will watch one family before, during, and after the disaster transpires. This disaster takes place throughout the entire world but we focus on the family of four living on the coast in California. The movie starts out with a prologue; a scene later in the movie.However, it actually begins with a normal morning with the family. The father is up and ready to go to work just as the children are eating their breakfast. It is a Friday and the kids are looking forward to the weekend. As the father leaves we follow him to his work. He works at a facility that dedicates themselves to researching the climates of the earth, the changes, watching rising and falling water levels, and things of the sor t. We then switch to look at the ice caps up north, drastically melting. The animals let out cries of anxiety and fear.At the same time the father has just spotted something peculiar. The water levels have risen much more than they should have in the last few hours. Somewhat anxious, he runs off to grab other scientists to help him study and evaluate this situation. The kids are just getting out of school and are heading off to the beach with their friends to hang out. Once arriving they notice something strange, there aren’t any creatures around. No squawking seagulls, no cautious crabs, nothing. They go ahead and head toward the water, thinking nothing of it.Some of them decide to lie in the sand right where the waters crash into it. One falls asleep without realizing it and ends up waking in fits of coughing. The others had been worried; he had gone completely underneath the water. The waters had risen quite a bit. The sons run off toward home to tell their parents of this scary discovery. Their father is still at work, and he and his team have discerned something big. The waters were rising at a constant rate. They could only assume the ice caps were melting due to an overload of pollutions and gases creating more heat than there should be.Frantic, they realize they don’t have long before a Tsunami approaches the shores of the United States; the ice is melting too fast. They take their research to the director in an attempt to do something about this. Everyone on the shores must be evacuated. The father will play a crucial part in this movie. His role as the scientist that notices the rising waters is very important. His children, will play as victims to this catastrophe but survive. The mother will be the one that supports them all and in the end saves her children by sacrificing herself.The major scenes in the movie will be as follows. -There are loud sirens throughout the city as people below, on the streets, panic. Everyone has just been told to evacuate the cities/state they reside in due to increasing water levels and an approaching tsunami. There are various helicopters attempting to save what people they can with the time they have left. There are two kids running toward the shore; we see someone standing there gazing at the ocean.They approach with desperation in their voices. â€Å"Mother! There you are! Please come with us, they can save us! Dad sent a chopper for us, let’s go! The mother follows after them and once at the chopper, she climbs the ladder behind them. Stray, desperate people however cling to the helicopter, weighing it down. The mother, realizing what the situation has come to, decides to save her children. She cuts the rope ladder she is on to lessen the weight of all the people so that they can escape. As this happens, there is a flashback to a week ago before everything happened. This will be how everything began. -We watch the encounters in everyone’s lives throughout the wee k along with the research and eventual discovery of the severance of the ice caps melting.As they learn of this, they first try to tell the people they must leave the state but to no avail. Thus, they try to go to someone with authority. -The governor, however, does not believe them and sends them away; threatening them that they will otherwise be arrested. – Desperate, they take to the streets and once again try and shout that everyone must leave the shores and evacuate closer to the middle of the United States. That everything will go underwater and everyone will die if they don’t leave. -The people do not listen to them though. Instead, they shout retorts at them and make fun of them.They give up and go home to think of what they can do that will work. -While they are at home they notice a storm is beginning to brew, a dangerous one at that. The sky is dark and engulfed by foreboding clouds. Concerned, the father goes to check the weather on what might be approachin g them. -A worried subordinate of the governor asks about the building storm, inquiring if maybe those people before were right about the whole global warming thing. The governor gets angry and refuses to believe that what they said was true. Talks of how just a few years ago he was told it wouldn’t happen for at least another few decades.They argue a bit more, the subordinate eventually giving up due to an urgent call for the authority. -Down in Chile, in a town called Puenta Arenas there is a group of children playing futbol along the shores. They laugh and shout happily, until they hear screams. Confused, they turn and gaze at it; mouths agape, at the sight before them. A tsunami is heading their way. The children run, screaming for their mothers and fathers. People scatter, heading toward an underground shelter (that is actually higher in elevation from the shores) for safety.They take their children, belongings; whatever they can carry. The wave hits, and those above are engulfed in the sea. The audience would not know there actually is a shelter though. -Back in the states at California, things have gotten worse. The brewing storm before is now quite violent. The rain beats down, battling with the winds. People are gawking, whether standing outside or in their homes; they all look scared or worried. Never before have they seen something like this before. -There is a group of people outside of the governor’s home, demanding to know what is going on.They continue to shout and ignore the guards in determination to get their answer. As this continues the storm worsens, sounding angrier and angrier. Inside the building, the governor stands at his window looking through his curtains; he sighs. He walks over to his desk and picks up the phone, â€Å"Yes, get me the president please. † -The two sons of the researcher are standing on their front porch, gazing at the storm through the tumultuous rain and wind. Their father comes up behind them with a strange look on his face. â€Å"What’s wrong?Did you find out what’s happening? He looks at them with uncertainty in his face, â€Å"I think†¦ too much of the ice caps have melted, everyone is going to get hit by a tsunami; worse in some places than others. We won’t get it as bad as say South America or Canada†¦ but still pretty bad. We have to do something. † As they start to go outside they realize that their mother is gone. They run out in search of her while their father goes back to the governor. -Someone in a black suit rushes up to the president â€Å"Mr. President Sir, we have an urgent phone call from the governor of California. † Surprised, the president picks up the phone, â€Å"Hello? The governor speaks with urgency â€Å"We have a problem. We need everyone on the coasts to evacuate onto higher ground.The ice caps have melted much faster than anticipated and tsunamis will be hitting the coasts everywhere because of it. † The president is silent for a few moments as he thinks this over. â€Å"But†¦ how? How can this be? It wasn’t supposed to—† The governor interrupts, â€Å"I know, it wasn’t supposed to happen for another few decades at the least. Things change; WE have made the change Sir. We have caused too much pollution to the air†¦Ã¢â‚¬  Sighing, he responds â€Å"Alright. Go ahead and warn your state.I will warn everyone else, and have them pass the word on as well. We must do this quickly. † -The father is running through the streets, darting between people and cars. He is headed toward the governor’s home to try, once again, to convince him to evacuate the cities. On his way there the sirens start to go off, along with an announcement â€Å"Everyone must leave their homes and evacuate immediately. There is an approaching tsunami that will flood the coasts. There is an approaching tsunami that will flood the coasts.Move to higher ground. † Astounded, he rushes off to his office with hope in his heart. -Panicked people run through the streets, since the roads are blocked by massive amounts of cars, toward what they believe is safety. The sons of the researcher run between the people, calling out for their mother; trying to find her before it is too late. One of the boys’ cell phone rings, it is their father. Picking it up and answering it, he finds out that his father has sent a chopper to the shore. Apparently there is a woman standing there, which he believes is their mother.They run to the shores, hoping their mother is alright. -On a group of islands called Svalbard, off the coast of Norway, trouble brews. They were nearly caught off guard, by the tsunami, which just went rampant their islands about an hour ago or so. Luckily, most of the villagers were able to run to safety; others were not so fort unate. Those which survived help one another to gather their bearings and head to somewhere safe to take care of everyone. -The scene which appeared at the beginning takes place here. Where the two boys find their mother and get on the helicopter.She sacrifices herself due to lots of people gathering on the ropes of the helicopter, desperate to be saved from the approaching tsunami, for her children. One child is shocked, but remains somewhat calm; at least on the outside.
